Just another Learnerblogs.org weblog

When I think of a blog, I think of it as an online diary of sorts. To me it is a place where any person can write their thoughts, feelings, emotions, questions, etc. Sure, many people can access your blogs, but what better way to get things off of your mind? I’ve used my blog on MySpace for sometime now, and although not everyday, when I do it provides a great means of relaxation to me.

I am very comfortable with computers. Since I got my laptop, it has become an everyday part of my life. I use it to keep in touch with friends that I might not see everyday, to do school work (and keep updated on my grades! Haha), and to just browse things of interest.

I don’t have a real set opinion on writing. I don’t mind doing it, but I’m also not the type of person that sits and writes in my spare time. Sometimes when I have a lot going on and I just need to vent I will write a blog, or poem. Other than that, I don’t have a specific kind of writing I like to do, I just do what I’m told.

People are probably concerned about their kids using the internet because in the past couple of years the internet has exploded. You can access just about anything you can think of with a few simple clicks. I don’t think the internet is dangerous unless you set out to use it for a dangerous purpose. Generally my friends and I use the computer for MySpace, Facebook, and things like that. It also helps out a lot when you have research to do for a project.

I am very confident and excited for the year ahead. Since this will be my last at Central, I hope it is filled with fun, yet challenges. I am very excited to use blogs. I’ve never done anything like this before so it is kind of exciting!

I hope you don’t mind that I find your article amusing - you told me you write blogs to relax, and then a paragraph later you told me you don’t like to write in your spare time :). I think I know what you mean, but I would want to point out that the writing you are doing that you don’t consider “writing” is actually valuable writing, just of a sort not usually labeled important in school. But when you hit the “real world” (whatever that is) the kind of writing you already do will help you greatly, because you’ll have developed skills in expressing what you’re thinking.

I look forward to hearing what you think as the year progresses.
